Mohamed Magdy Mahmoud has published a concept design of the Nokia C8, which is by far the best concept design I have seen to date. The chrome and black design looks very sleek and stylish with a full glossy back cover to mimic the front touch screen. Hit the jump to find out more.
The Nokia C8 Concept has a similar shape and design to the Nokia C7. The difference being the hardware send, end and menu keys being replaced by touch sensitive alternatives, and disguised front speaker and camera details courtesy of a black glass front and back casing.
Nokia C8 Concept Features:
- Symbian^3 Operating System
- 3.5″ AMOLED Capacitive Touchscreen Display With 720 x 405 Pixels
- Multi-Touch Input
- 12 MP Auto-Focus Carl Zeiss Camera
- LED Flash
- 1.3 MP High Quality Front Facing Camera
- MicroUSB v2.0
- HDMI Port
- 3.5 mm Port
- USB On-The-Go
- LED Battery Indicator
- Active Noise Cancellation Microphone
- Dual Speakers
I’d love to see this concept materialise, and hope Nokia can take something away from the design features, and hopefully implement some of these ideas into future handsets. Make sure you check out Mohamed Magdy Mahmoud Nokia C8 Concept page.

New Firmware v13.0.16 (PR 1.1) | Nokia C7 (inc. Changelog)
The Nokia C7 has recently received its first firmware update PR 1.1, taking it up to v13.0.16. This PR 1.1 is also headed to other Symbian^3 devices such as the Nokia N8 and Nokia C6-01. The new firmware should be available for most of you right now, although it may take a while for it to become available to everyone. Hit the jump to find out what’s new.
Most of the updated features may not directly be visible, but together, they aim to enhance the user experience, improving the quality and stability of the device. Some of the new features include:
- Meeting requests can be accepted directly from email invitations.
- Maps integration in email, which means people can view the meeting location on the map when the address is mentioned in the location field in the invite.
How To Update The Firmware
There are many ways of updating the firmware on your Nokia handset. To install the software on your device using FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air), type in *#0000# on the home screen or go to Device Manager. Then select Options, Check for updates and follow the on screen prompts. If the firmware update is not immediately available via FOTA, or the device you are using does not have support for this service, you can also update your firmware using NSU (Nokia Software Updater) and or Nokia Ovi Suite on your PC. Once you plug your device in, select the PC Suite option, ensuring that the phone has a Sim Card inserted and the profile is set to General. Some devices support UDP (User Data Preservation), which will preserve all your data and content on your device during these updates. However we still recommend you do a full backup in order to guarantee the safety of your data. Please share your thoughts and experiences with the new firmware in the comments below.
